Following the Messages of the Lord When We Stray
Sometimes there are times when we stray from the way of the Lord. No person is perfect and can be perfect since only God is perfect. When we take a left turn instead of going straight, God still gives us hope to turn it around and get that to the straight and narrow path.
The Israelites are known for the amount of messages that the God of Jacob gave them when they had committed sin and turned from the straight and narrow path. Like the Israelites in Amos, we are individuals that may make mistakes. Even after these mistakes are committed, we are given opportunities to change.
“Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be woth you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.” – Amos 5:14-15
God has a steadfast love that extends to the heavens and that is timeless. Though we may sin, he pardons our transgressions when we seek Him humbly and contritely. Jesus Christ has already taken the burden of our sin on the cross. We are given an invitation to eternal salvation with the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and tgebrepentance of our sins. It is a gift that God gives to us and no amount of works can substitute for it.
“Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance?”- Micah 7:18
We may attempt to not make any sin or spiritual mistake, but even so God allows us to return to His path of righteousness if we follow his message.
