Do Not Be in Dread

“For the LORD spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: ‘Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy.” – Isaiah 8:11-13

With so much information available at the moment, it is understandable to hear and see news being played on repeat either online, in the radio, or on the television. Although there are appears to be much commotion and noise concerning the news, it is important to place our perspective on a higher level. While there may be situations that may be occurring, it is important to pray and shift the focus to what really matters.

Throughout all that is happening, we are to stay focused that the LORD is in control. We are to remain focused on what truly matters instead of the noise that is going around. We are not instructed to fear what we are being told to fear. We are to honor the LORD and focus our hope as we make our way to a new year. We are not to walk in the ways of the world, and we are to walk in the ways of the LORD which is holy.

There is a reason for our minds to be placed in fertile ground and fertile words. We are not to receive information that serves us no use. While there are many events that are ongoing at the moment, it is of greater importance to establish holiness and direct our steps in the ways of the LORD. While people may make plans, it is the LORD who decides if those plans occur or not. We are not to worry.
