“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of GOD is preached, and everyone forces his way into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void.” – Luke 16:16-17

Luke 16 Scripture
Luke 16 Description

We learn from the writings of Luke, John, Mark, and Matthew who Jesus was and is, what He has done and continues doing, and when Jesus was able to finish the work that He was given by GOD. We learn of a servant that arrived to earth to save humanity from sin. We also learn from His preachings and work that GOD had spoken about Jesus Christ in the Prophets words.

Throughout all this, when we read the letters of Luke, John, Mark, and Matthew, we are able to see who Jesus Christ truly was. We learn that Jesus Christ is a continuation of the Covenant of GOD with Abraham but through Jesus Christ. We learn that as a continuation of the word of GOD, Jesus Christ states that the Ten Commandments should be followed although now there would also be the grace of GOD. While there was grace seen through GOD telling the prophets to preach repentance and giving Israel opportunities to repent, GOD was going to send Jesus Christ to save humanity from sin.

Therefore, Jesus Christ did not arrive to abolish the Ten Commandments but to continue the instruction and obedience to the Ten Commandments. We also learn that with Jesus Christ there is grace. We also read that Jesus Christ states that even the heavens and earth will pass away, but the word of GOD will never pass away. The word of GOD being the promises of GOD, the Ten Commandments, and the creation of a new heaven and new earth.
