A Psalm of David
“Blessed is the one whose transgressions is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose Spirit there is no deceit.”- Psalm 32: 1-2
Through the Psalms of David we are reminded of the struggles and difficulties that exist in life. The struggles of David are a reminder of the struggles of Israel and the future struggles that Jesus Christ would go through in order to save not only Israel but the world. We can see that they can also represent the struggles of the believer who is upheld through their faith in GOD.
Psalm 32 tells us that blessed are those whose sin is forgiven by GOD. We know that GOD is able to forgive and atone for our iniquities. We know that He sent the prophets to preach to people about the need to repent from sin to obtain eternal salvation and when the prophets were not enough, He sent Jesus Christ to save Israel and the world through His death at the cross. GOD was able to resurrect Jesus Christ and give eternal life. Because Jesus Christ obeyed GOD, He is also able to give eternal life to those that believe in His salvation.
David reminds us that those who choose to repent of their sins and are forgiven by GOD are blessed. This fits with the ability to see that GOD wants to bless us for our faith and for repenting of our sins. We know that by forsaking sin, individuals are able to follow and believe GOD’s word and learn righteousness from the Spirit of Truth. We are reminded of resisting temptations and learning that we are following the path of GOD that Jesus Christ instructed us to live.
