A Psalm of David: GOD’s Shield
“But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah.” Psalm 3: 3-5
We learn from the Psalms of David, the determination that David had to glorify GOD throughout his life. We learn that even in the difficulties that existed which caused struggles, David was able to place his faith in GOD. With this type of faith, we are able to see that GOD is able to guide us and protect us through the difficulties that exist in life. In Psalm 3, we learn that David is learning about the plots that were attempting to attack David.
We learn that through the ability to of having faith and remaining with devotion to GOD, David is able to continue in the protection that GOD gives. We learn that David tells us in Psalm 3 that GOD is a shield. GOD stated to Abraham that He would be a shield to Abraham. We learn that these promises of GOD still exist for those who trust in His word and follow the commandments of GOD.
We also learn that David humbles himself and prays to GOD for the deliverance from the attacks of the enemy. We learn that we can remember how David responds to circumstances. We learn that he goes to GOD and prays and makes sure that he is deciding in faith. We learn that whatever situation was going on, David was full of devotion and faith to GOD. GOD would then be a shield to David and defend him from all his adversaries.
