King Jesus Christ is the Continuation of the Blessings of GOD Almighty to Abraham

We learn in the Scriptures that GOD Almighty chose Abraham to be an example to the nations about the importance of righteousness. While Abraham was already well off, GOD Almighty changes Abraham into an individual that is able to father two nations in Israel through Isaac and Ishmael. We learn that GOD Almighty also allows the nation of Israel to obtain the Promised Land, and the ability for the descendants to increase in number like the sands of the seas or the stars in the sky. We learn that this is a reality that has been fulfilled by GOD Almighty.

We learn that GOD Almighty establishes a purpose, and that is what happens. We learn that through Abraham, the nation of Israel is born. We also learn that through Abraham there are innumerable blessings that GOD Almighty gives to the descendants of Abraham. We can see the manner that these blessings are spoken by Abraham to Isaac.

“See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that the LORD has blessed! May GOD give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be LORD over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you.” – Genesis 27: 26-29

We learn to the specific detail that the blessings would not only be for material abundance, blessings of authority, but also the ability to have the protection of GOD Almighty over us believers. While this was only for the sons and daughters of Abraham, it would become blessings of the Gentiles through King Jesus Christ. We learn that King Jesus Christ continues these blessings from the lineage of Abraham.

We learn in the story of Joseph, that Joseph is also blessed by GOD Almighty in the land of Egypt. We learn that when he is about to bless his twelve children, GOD Almighty tells the people of Israel from what tribe the Messiah would arrive through.

“Judah, your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down before you. Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him? The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples. Binding his foal to the vine and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine and his vesture in the blood of grapes. His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.” – Genesis 49: 8 12

We learn that this specific blessing of Joseph is prophesying the arrival of not only King David to inherit the blessings of kingship of the unified kingdom of Israel when the time would arrive, but most importantly the Kingship of King Jesus Christ. This is seen by the manner in which there is total control, dominion, and authority given over to King Jesus Christ. While David would obtain the ability to rule Israel and exert might, strength, and authority to defeat the surrounding nations, King Jesus Christ defeats sin, death, and evil on the cross and resurrection on the third day. We learn that based on the blessings of Joseph which are the blessings of Abraham which are the blessings of GOD Almighty, we are able to see that the scepter and ruler’s staff would not depart from King Jesus Christ.

While there have been earthly kings on earth including in Israel, none has been able to have the scepter everlasting. This part is reserved for King Jesus Christ because He obeyed GOD Almighty. We learn that King Jesus Christ is the temple, high priest, atoning sacrifice, and everlasting king that will rule with a rod of iron and defeat His enemies with the sword that comes from His mouth. King Jesus Christ will wash His garments in wine symbolizing the death on the cross that allowed him to give eternal life to anyone who believes in Him while having taken upon himself the wrath of GOD Almighty for the sins of the world, for all history, for all mankind, for all time.

We learn that when King Jesus Christ returns to the judge the world, He will tread the winepress of the wrath of GOD Almighty against the wicked of humanity. This allows us to see that He “washed his
garments in wine” after destroying His enemies when He returns to judge and destroy the wicked. For these reasons, the blessings of GOD Almighty are the blessings of King Jesus Christ. We are to be mindful of the times we are living in and be able to understand that there is no other hope or eternal salvation but through the name above all the other names, the name of King Jesus Christ.
